Our 50th reunion was held September 15/16, 2023
By all measures it was a great success!
More than half of the surviving class attended one or more events.
Not only did our attendance surpass that of the 45th reunion, it was even more financially rewarding. As announced before the reunion, your "committee" expressly approved that the fees for events at the reunion were set purposely on the high side, not only to ensure against a deficit, but to obtain a surplus to donate to the Faculty.
After consultation with Prof. Percy and the Faculty, a Supplementary Bursary fund has been established, administered by the Faculty of Law, and awarded "annually to a student with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of a Juris Doctor degree, with selection based on demonstrated financial need.
The initial funding has been made from the proceeds of the 50th reunion in the sum of $6,000.00. This will provide at least 5 sequential bursaries of $1200. each. Prof. Percy is the head of the committee that oversees all bursaries, including this one, and has advised that student assistance of this sort is in great need.
This bursary fund will eventually run out, unless we add to it in the future, either by donations from individuals [you can send such a donation directly to the University and earmark it to be added to the "Law Class of 1973 Bursary" [eligible for tax deduction] or by attending our NEXT REUION whenever that occurs...... [see the page for "next reunion?" to provide your input to that]
